Meet Lawyer Ray Price
After more than 18 years as an attorney, I understand there are situations where only a vigorous and tenacious response will get the job done. I believe strongly in protecting my clients at every turn and fighting for their interests.
I am attorney Ray Price. From my law office in Hattiesburg, I represent clients throughout southern Mississippi and the Mississippi Gulf Coast in personal injury, criminal defense and other types of legal issues. I love trying cases, and often take on difficult cases that other attorneys have turned down.
My Education
I grew up in the small town of Forest, Mississippi, where I attended the public school system and excelled both academically and in extra-curricular activities.
I pursued my undergraduate education at the University of Mississippi, which I attended on an academic scholarship. I obtained a B.A. degree in political science with a minor in English. I was a member of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity and the Political Science Honor Society, and was active in campus affairs.
Having decided to remain in Mississippi and practice law, I chose to attend the University of Mississippi School of Law. While at law school, I became a founding member of the Public Interest Law Clinic, an organization founded to assist the poor in obtaining legal services. I also served as a judicial intern for the Lafayette County Circuit Judge, beginning a long course of active involvement in trials by jury.
Upon graduation in 1991, I was chosen as law clerk for the Honorable Roy Noble Lee, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Mississippi. My duties were to read the complete record and transcripts of lower court rulings, do extensive legal research, and make recommendations to Chief Justice Lee and the other justices about whether the lower court ruling should be upheld or reversed. Here I learned irreplaceable lessons about the proper presentation of matters to the trial and appellate courts.
When Chief Justice Lee retired from the Court in 1992, I remained with the court as a staff attorney. I served in that capacity until June of 1993, when I came to Hattiesburg, Mississippi, to open a law practice.
Professional Associations and Memberships
I am active in the Mississippi Trial Lawyers Association as a member of the board of directors. I am also a member of the Mississippi Bar Association, the American Bar Association, and the American Association for Justice. I serve, by appointment of the Supreme Court of Mississippi, on the Complaint Tribunal, which hears complaints of unprofessional and unethical conduct by other lawyers.
